Starting July 1st, Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) has entrusted Kötter Aviation Security SE & Co. KG with overseeing employee and goods checks at access points to the aviation security area. This change, however, does not impact passenger security procedures or the overall safety of the airport premises. The transition to Kötter Aviation Security marks a seamless handover of responsibilities and capacities from the previous service provider.
Kötter Aviation Security SE & Co. KG brings extensive experience and the necessary capabilities in airport security services to BER, ensuring robust security measures alongside the airport’s internal security team. In addition to BER’s own security personnel, Kötter Aviation Security now manages employee and goods checks at key access control points within the aviation security area.
The decision to engage Kötter Aviation Security follows the termination of a contract with another external service provider by the airport company, effective June 30th, due to issues related to wage payments.
