San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has announced a new addition to its flight roster. Starting December 21, 2024, United Airlines, the largest carrier operating out of SFO, will inaugurate seasonal nonstop flights to Belize City, Belize. This new route aims to enhance travel options and connectivity between the two regions, fostering increased tourism and business exchanges.

The service, which is set to operate once a week, was detailed by the Belize Tourism Board as part of a broader initiative to boost tourism in Belize. The announcement has been met with positive responses from both the travel industry and potential travelers eager to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Belize.

United Airlines will deploy Boeing 737 aircraft for this route, known for their reliability and comfort. The choice of aircraft ensures that passengers will have a pleasant travel experience, which is a critical aspect of United Airlines’ service strategy. This move also signifies the airline’s commitment to expanding its network and offering more diverse destinations to its customers.

This initiative is expected to have a significant positive impact on both destinations. For San Francisco, it opens up a new tourist market and strengthens its position as a global travel hub. For Belize, it promises an increase in tourist arrivals and economic benefits, aligning with the country’s goals to enhance its visibility on the international stage and stimulate economic growth through tourism.

“We are excited to welcome nonstop United Airlines flights from SFO to Belize,” said Airport Director Ivar C. Satero. “For Bay Area travelers seeking a warm-weather getaway this winter, United’s new service will be a welcome addition to their wide range of destinations from SFO. We thank United for their commitment to SFO and are confident this new service will be a success.”
